Materials and components are created using clean and chemical free processes; we work with tanneries that do not damage the natural environment through their dyeing processes. Typically, this means vegetable tanning, which results in an organic feel and higher durability. We consider every element; buttons are made using recycled paper, zips have been made using organic cotton tape, with other innovation in development. We use compostable and recyclable packaging.
The leather industry procures jobs for rural communities who often rely on the leather industry to make a living, allowing SKIIM to contribute to a hand-worker economy, to increase global workforce inclusivity, improve women’s wellbeing beyond factories and preserve important cultural traditions around the world.

SKIIM has an in-house repair service, and up-cycles deadstock into new garments and smaller goods.

SKIIM’s leather is a by-product of the meat industry and is sourced from Leather Working Group accredited suppliers who adhere to globally recognised social and environmental standards.
Our animal welfare policy covers both our suppliers and subcontractors. The wool we use is verified by both Woolmark Certification and The Responsible Wool Standard.
