The 5-time Oscar winner, The Artist (2012) is a silent film that explores a romance between two actors. If you haven’t watched it already, now is the time!
Un Homme et Une femme
A Man and a Woman (1966) is about a young widow and widower who meet through their children and get involved in a complicated relationship. The film is known for its wonderful photography and memorable music.
Cléo from 5 to 7
Exploring existentialism and the way that women are perceived in French society at the time, Cléo from 5 to 7 (1967) is an iconic film with some wonderful fashion. A must watch.
Little White Lies
'Les Petits Mouchoirs' in French, is a 2010 French comedy-drama. Written and directed by Guillaume Canet, it has a star-studded cast including Marion Cotillard - it won't disappoint!
A Bout de Souffle
Also known as 'Breathless' (1960) in English, The first of Jean-Luc Godard’s feature-length work, this French crime classic stars Jean-Paul Belmondo as a criminal, and Jean Seberg as his girlfriend. Considered to be one of the best films of all time - you will love it!
Amélie
Set in Montmarte, Amélie (2001) is a fantastic romantic-comedy. A feel good film with a happy ending. Something we all need at the moment, right?

This 1940 romantic thriller is based on Daphne du Maurier's novel. It takes us from Monte Carlo to Cornwall, with a beautiful depiction of the French Riviera. The 2020 version is also fantastic starring Lily James!
